Little Miss Kitty
Little Miss Kitty is an adorable amigurmi crochet pattern, all dressed up in her favourite dress. She is worked in size 10 crochet thread. The gauge is as follows: Rounds 1-2 = 7/16” (1.2 cm). However, it is more important that you keep your stitches firm, as befits amigurumi, than that you meet gauge exactly. Little Miss Kitty translates well in other weights, as shown by my wonderful testers, who worked this pattern in 3-weight and 4-weight yarns, in addition to working it in thread as written. This is a versatile pattern. In thread, Kitty will barely measure 2 inches (5 cm) tall.
This pattern is graded as an Intermediate in difficulty, though I see no reason why an advanced or confident beginner should avoid it. Most of the difficulty comes in the shaping. Stitches used are primarily Sl St, Sc, Sc-Dec, with a few Hdc, Dc, and 2 Tr. US terminology is used throughout.
Very little thread is required for this adorable kitty. Less than 20 yards each of 2 colors MC (main color, for the body) and CC (contrast color, for the dress), and a couple yards of floss to embroider the facial features.
