This is the pattern I would have liked when my own children were small and but I didn’t have time to design it. The little people design is seen the world over in folk knitting and it“s referred to as dancers, farmers, cowboys, paper dolls etc. It is a seam free garment knitted from the bottom up, with a lowered front neck.
