Little Princess
My first neice Charlotte was born late November last year so I made this for Faye my sister in law. We took them Solva Wollen Mill whilst they were staying with us and Faye liked the look of some handmade scarves and their stitchwork so when we got back home, I dyed the wool for her whilst she looked on and she picked out a selection of colours from the dyes I mixed up. Then I designed the pattern using Shetland stitch for the centre which she chose from my stitch books and then the rest of the stitchwork and design were a surprise.
Easy to make - even for me as I hate circular needles but I think if I made another I would leave out the Yarn Over rounds which I have made optional in the pattern, either that or knit more knit rows before and after them which would take more wool, however, this is a very tight project yarnwise- I ended up with 5 grams left and Mandy, customer who made and tested the pattern ended up with only 4 grams remaining.
Skills required - Lace /invisible cast on but you can learn this off Youtube - which I did.
Blocking techniques to get it to the right size otherwise it will not look as good.
The Yellow shawl was made by Mandy Scragg for her new grandaughter and many thanks to her for testing my pattern! The colour on this one was Lemon Popsical.
