Little Rays of Sunshine is a three-color boomerang shaped shawl created for fingering/sport weight yarns in solid colors (you will find suggestions for color choices in a dedicated note within the pattern). Sections of easy garter stitch alternate with mosaic sections in a garter background, making this shawl an engaging, but also relaxing knit.

SKILLS REQUIRED
Knit
Increasing (knit into the front and back, make one right)
Decreasing (knit two together)
Knit through the back loop
Slipping stitches
I-cord bind-off

GAUGE
22 sts x 48 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4’’ x 4’’) in garter stitch, blocked.

SIZE
Sample measures: 200 cm wingspan, 60 cm center depth / 79’’ wingspan, 24’’ center depth, blocked.

YARN
Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy (100% Merino Superwash, 320 m / 350 yds per skein – 1 skein = 100g / 3.53 ounces), sport weight:

1 skein in color A, shown in Air
2 skeins in color B, shown in Night Sky
2 skeins in color C, shown in Sunflower

For my sample I used 0.55 skeins of color A (176 m / 189 yds), 1.25 skeins of color B (400 m / 438 yds) and 1.2 skeins of color C (378 m / 413 yds).

Please note that yardage is an estimate and depends on knitting style, tension, yarn and needles used.

NEEDLES
3.5 mm/US 4 – 4 mm/US 6 (for bind off) - long circular recommended

Little Rays of Sunshine è uno scialle in tre colori, a forma di boomerang, creato per filati Fingering o Sport preferibilmente in colori solidi (per suggerimenti sui colori, fare riferimento alle note a pagina 3). Sezioni lavorate in semplice legaccio si alternano a sezioni a mosaico su base legaccio, rendendo questo scialle interessante ma al tempo stesso rilassante da realizzare.

CONOSCENZE NECESSARIE PER LA REALIZZAZIONE DELLO SCIALLE
Lavorare a diritto
Aumentare (lavorare un diritto e un diritto ritorto nello stesso punto, lavorare un aumento intercalato a destra)
Diminuire (due maglie insieme a diritto)

Passare le maglie
Chiudere le maglie con chiusura ad i-cord

Per il mio scialle originale ho usato 0,55 matasse del colore A (176 m), 1,25 matasse del colore B (400 m) e 1,2 matasse del colore C (378 m).

Nota: la quantità di filato utilizzata dipende da numerosi fattori quali stile di lavorazione, tensione, filato e ferri utilizzati.

FERRI
3.5 mm (4 mm per la chiusura) o una misura adeguata ad avere una tensione/un campione simile a quella del modello originale.

Si raccomanda di utilizzare ferri circolari considerando che sarà necessario lavorare un elevato numero di maglie.
