Little Red Fox

Little hands hold tightly to the threadbare comfort of a beloved stuffed animal. Fresh & biting, the December air tastes like freedom. Snow crusted over crunches underfoot. Each step. The trees are exposed and bare in the early winter’s late afternoon light- a hollow gold creeps stealthily along the horizon as the day ages. Squirrel friends chatter and scramble along tree trunks, beckoning, inviting a moment of dalliance at the woods edge. Circles and infinities are traced around the trees via footpath. Laughter & glee at the cold. Moments of wonder. Twilight has overtaken the sky. Slowly, a door spills warm golden light onto the cold ground, and a warm soup waits inside.
Sweater is worked from the top down, like a typical raglan, flat to start and then joined in the round at front when neckline shaping is completed. Sleeves are worked in the round. Neckline is picked up and knit in the round.
