Both version are worked from the bottom-up.
The tunic style features a split hem that is worked flat in two pieces then joined to work in the round up to the armholes.
The vest version is worked in the round to the armholes. At this point, both versions are worked flat and joined at the shoulders. Stitches are picked up around the neck and armhole openings for finishing.
Optional afterthought pockets are added last by picking up stitches, working pockets, then stitching in place to secure.
