The perfect layering piece for multiple seasons, designed with both function and style in mind, this vest can be dressed up or kept casual.
Two files/version included in download: Tunic style, shown in Malabrigo Rios is a more feminine style, perfect to pair with leggings; and Vest version is great for boys and girls alike, but with more masculine lines.

Materials:
270 (320, 365, 420, 480, 550) yards/250 (295, 335, 385, 440, 505) m of Quince & Co Lark (100% Wool, 134 yards/123 m per 50 grams/1.76 ounces) or other comparable worsted weight yarn. Shown in Chanterelle.
US #8/5.0mm needles
-20-24”/50-60 cm circular needles (depending on sweater size)
-16”/40 cm circular needles or double points for working pockets, collar and armhole ribbing
Stitch markers (4, including 1 distinguishable for EOR)
Cable needle
Scrap yarn or stitch holders
Both version are worked from the bottom-up.
The tunic style features a split hem that is worked flat in two pieces then joined to work in the round up to the armholes.
The vest version is worked in the round to the armholes. At this point, both versions are worked flat and joined at the shoulders. Stitches are picked up around the neck and armhole openings for finishing.
Optional afterthought pockets are added last by picking up stitches, working pockets, then stitching in place to secure.
