The Little Scarlet dress is a loose and cosy raglan style dress with a gathered skirt. This seamless dress is knitted top down in stockinette st, beginning with the neck. The hem of the dress and the sleeve cuffs are finished in a matched pattern. The big advantage of working top down is that you can adjust the length of the sleeves and dress length to suit your needs.

MATERIALS REQUIRED
• 5, (5, 6) x 50 g balls 500, (500, 600) m or 547, (547, 656) yds using Drops Cotton Merino red shade 6.
• 3, (3, 3) x 25 ball 630, (630, 630) m or 689, (689, 689) yds using Drops Kid - Silk, red shade 14.
• 1 Circular needle 3.50 mm x 50 cm (US 4).
• 1 Circular needle 4.00 mm x 50 cm (US 6).
• 1 Circular needle 3.50 mm x 80 cm (US 4).
• 1 Circular needle 4.00 mm x 80 cm (US 6).
• 9 Stitch markers.
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 2 Stitch holders or scrap yarn to hold sleeve sts.
• 1 Button (1 ½ cm diameter).
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches on 10 cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, take a smaller needle size.

ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS:
Sizes: 6 - 12 month, (1 - 2, 2 - 3) years.
Dress flat width (just below armhole) - 24, (27, 29) cm/ 9 ½, (10 ¾, 11 ½) ins.
Dress length (from top of the shoulders) - 44, (47, 47) cm/ 17 ¼, (18 ½, 18 ½) ins.
Sleeve length (from top of shoulders) - 29, (31, 31) cm/ 11 ½, (12 ¼, 12 ¼) ins.

GAUGE (Tension): 18 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm (4 ins), measured over stockinette st, (garment being blocked), using 4.00 mm (US 6) needle or size required to give correct tension and Drops Cotton Merino and Drops Kid - Silk, held together. It’s very important to check your gauge (tension) before starting as working to the wrong tension will mean your garment won’t be size shown.
