Based on a vintage ankle sock design these, Little Stripy Socks are a fun knit with an usual construction.

The Little Stripy Socks are knit flat from the top down. Starting with a 1x1 cuff at the top of the sock, the leg is then knit in simple stocking stitch until the required length is reached. The work is then split and the heel is then created using the ‘heel flap and gusset’ method (full step-by-step instructions included in the pattern). The instep and sole of the foot are then knit in stocking stitch until the right length is reached, before adding the toe and seamed together.
