Little Summer Dress
An easy to wear little dress for lazy summer days. The pattern should work with any DK yarn with nice drape: cotton, linen, hemp, bamboo blends are ideal.
It’s an easy project, just have to know how knit, purl and decrease. The yoke has a short row construction to heighten the back for a nicer fit. The EZ sewn bind-off is used but a description is provided. Tuturials for the Kitchener’s stitch for underarm grafting and how to embroider with the lazy daisy stitch are mentioned.
21-6 Added a scheme to the pdf to clarify position of markers and way that the short rows are knitted.
See this blog for a bit more background.
26-6 A major error was found: the number of cast-on stitches was not correct. It should be: cast on 176 (188, 200) stitches. The setup of markers should be: Next row: K25 (27, 30) stitches, pm, k38 (40, 40), pm, k25 (27, 30), place one of the different colour markers to indicate side, k25 (27, 30), pm, k38 (40, 40), pm, k25 (27, 30). Fixed in updated pattern.
11-3-11 Changes sleeve description slightly e.g. added EOR marker.
