Little Thrummer Boy
Pattern update posted on September 26, 2017- corrects typos and row number labels.
This pattern uses about half of a ball of Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted (seen here in shade 149-Navy) and about one third of a ball of Malabrigo Nube roving (seen here in shade 416 indiecita).
You can use any worsted weight yarn for the body of the hat and any wool roving for the thrums. Consider a variegated or striped yarn for the body and solid colored thrums as another possibility!
This pattern is simple and could easily be altered for sizes by adding or removing stitches from the original number cast on. Simply add or remove stitches in multiples of 4 to maintain the pattern of the thrums.
To get further guidance on the number of stitches required to make different sizes, check out http://www.earthguild.com/products/knitcroc/marypat/hatca....
This pattern has not yet been tested beyond the prototype, but should be simple enough to adjust as needed. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
