This beanie is the baby size to my twisted puff stitch collection. Now you can complete a set for Daddy (with my Large size in men colors), Mommy, (with my second adult size) and now Baby too! Don’t forget to check out my other patterns: “Woman’s Irish Pride Beanie” and “Twisted Sister Beanie” (the large size beanie) as well to complete the family set!

The baby version of my twisted puff stitch collection uses sport weight yarn of 2 ply. If you plan to use a heavier ply of yarn my pattern does include gauge notes to help you adjust the pattern accordingly.

Like my other twisted puff beanies, the pattern uses the following stitches:

Hdc (Half double crochet)
Dc (Double crochet)
Fpdc (Front post double crochet)
Bpdc (Back post double crochet)
Puff st (Puff stitch)
Puff Dec (Puff decrease)
Hdc Dec (Half double crochet decrease)

You can leave the baby hat as is or add any accessories that you want. I chose sports theme for a boy and I have a great large flower for a girl (Check out my “Open Bloom Flower” pattern).
