This little blanket is written in two sizes, to make either a smaller size for a playmat, baby blanket or lap blanket, or a larger size to cozy up with on the couch or in a dorm room. The pattern can be expanded to add another row of squares for a bed size blanket.

The simple design allows the knitter to play with the squares to create new arrangements. Consider using only one contrast color for a cohesive look, or play with colors and use a different color for every corner. Look at the last page for some sample ideas!

The wonderful local wool from Riverslea Farm makes a durable blanket that gets softer and cozier with use, but any heavy worsted weight yarn will work for this blanket.
