I was wanting to knit a pumpkin hat using a light fingering yarn but unable to find a pattern for this weight. So even though there are a lot of pumpkin hat patterns out there, here is one to fill that gap. I also wanted the leaves to look like pumpkin leaves because other hat patterns had leaves that looked nothing like pumpkin leaves.

Designed and knit for my grandson, Orion, who is just turning one.

A provisional cast on is used and the knitting begins from the bottom up, knitting the hat first. Remove the waste yarn carefully as you put the live stitches back on your needles to knit the leaves that adorn the bottom of the hat. Written for 3 sizes.
