Pattern description from Knitting in America: “Lisa designed the Liu Had a Dream cardigan and sleeveless vest while listening to the opera Turandot by Puccini, in which a maid named Liu dreams of marrying a prince. In a Parks-like reversal of the expected, Lisa chose a lattice stitch for the bottom band and a ribbing stitch for the body; the lattice is repeated in panels on the sleeves. The yarns, imported from Germany, are both from Muench. The raspberry yarn is called Wuhan and is 65 percent wool and 35 percent silk. The multicolored (purple, blue, mustard, and teal) accent yarn, called Sprint, is 75 percent cotton and 25 percent polyamide. The buttons on the cardigan and vest are all different, a Parks trademark. Knowing she was going to model the sweater while fly-fishing, Lisa included a wooden button with a fish painted on it. The pattern for this cardigan-vest set appears on page 219.”
