Under hela November kommer all förtjänst för mönstret doneras till Prematurförbundet.

Idén till denna vante föddes då jag och min vän Pamela ville starta en insamling till förmån för Prematurförbundet.
Livets träd som bildas på vantens ovansida står för livet och livmodern, hjärtat på undersidan är det lilla hjärtat som du håller i din hand och vårdar ömt.

Garnåtgång

50g Grundfärg, Rauma Finull eller liknande för rätt stickfasthet
50g Kontrastfärg, Rauma Finull eller liknande för rätt stickfasthet

Vantens mått; Omkrets 20 cm, Längd 22 cm. Justeras med en förlängning som finns i mönstret alternativt ett tjockare garn och/eller större stickor.

Livets Träd Vanten stickas nedifrån och upp och börjar med en resårmudd som avslutas med en picotkant, denna viks sedan till insidan och sys fast.

Hela vanten stickas därefter i flerfärgsstickning med en grundfärg och en kontrastfärg. Den avslutas genom att sys ihop med maskstygn i toppen.

Tummen är en istickstumme, dvs man stickar tummens första maskor med ett restgarn för att senare plocka upp maskorna och sticka tummen för sig.

The idea for this mitten was born when my friend and I wanted to start a fund raiser for the Premature/Neonatal care in Sweden.
The tree of life that forms on the top of the mitten represents life and the womb, the heart on the bottom is the little heart that you hold in your hand and cherish tenderly.

Yarnage

50g Base color, Rauma Finull or similar for the right gauge
50g Contrast color, Rauma Finull or similar for the right gauge

Measurements; Circumference 20 cm, Length 22 cm. This is adjusted with an extension which is inculded in the pattern or thicker yarn and/or larger needles.

The Tree of Life Mitten is knitted from the bottom up and starts with an elastic cuff that ends with a picot edge, this is then folded to the inside and sewn on.

The entire mitten is then knitted in colourwork with one base color and one contrasting colour. It is finished by sewing together with kitchener stitch at the top.

The thumb - you knit the first stitches of the thumb with a leftover yarn to later pick up the stitches and knit the thumb separately.
