This lovely shawl will compliment any outfit with its casual stockinette, garter ridges and simple lace. You will increase stitches on each edge. A double decrease in the center keeps the triangle from widening quickly. A four-stitch rib on each edge gives the appearance that the stockinette stitch flows to the edge, without the curling. The pattern is easy to remember: seven repeats of the stockinette with a garter ridge and three repeats of the three eyelet ridge.
The inset is created by knitting the triangle lace pattern across half of the right side row. The stitches in the second half are gradually joined as the rectangle is knit. purling together the last stitch of the first half with the first stitch of the second half. The last border edge is knitted in the same manner.

The shawl uses three skeins. You have the option of knitting the shawl in one color way, knitting blocks of color, or fading between the color ways. The sample is knit using a fade in the arrow section and a different skein for the final inset. Instructions are included for the fade. Fade instructions are included.
