Lizard Ridge Cowl
The Lizard Ridge Cowl was created as a project for a short row class I recently taught. Short row sections create undulating patterns which are framed by garter ridges, and alternating two skeins of a long-repeat, self-striping yarn increases the color variation. (details given in the pattern)
To give my students practice working short rows on both the knit and purl side of stockinette stitch, the cowl is worked flat and seamed with mattress stitch. For knitters who avoid seaming, a circular version is in the works. The pattern includes information on how to increase or decrease the circumference of the cowl.
The cowl was inspired by the Lizard Ridge Afghan by Laura Aylor. Special thanks to Laura for her amazing design and for giving me permission to use the Lizard Ridge name for my cowl.
