LK150 Toolara Cardigan
A simple but flattering shawl collar cardigan worked in DK yarn on an LK150 mid gauge (6.5mm) machine. Options for long or three quarter drop shoulder sleeves, and contrast inset pockets. Sloping shoulders. Minimal finishing, with rolled edges and only two seams to handsew, making this achievable in a day! Sleeves are picked up and worked downwards.
This cardigan is beginner friendly, but you will need to know how to cast on and bind off, use hold position and wrap sts, rehang sts, and how to decrease. I used mainly a latch hook cast on and bind off, with an e-wrap cast on for pocket linings.
Please note: Measurements are in centimetres, with inches given in brackets. Inches are approximate.
Finished sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL)
Back width: 46 (18”) (48.5 (19”), 53 (21”), 57.5 (22.5”), 60.5 (24”))
Total length: 62 (24.5”) (63.5 (25), 64.5(25.5”), 65 (25.6”), 66 (23”))
To choose a size - double the back width measurement and choose a size where this measurement is 5-15cm (2-6”) bigger than your actual bust measurement, depending on ease desired.
Model in pics has 92cm (36”) bust and is wearing size medium in the darker purple wool, with 15cm (6”) of ease, and size small in the lighter purple cotton with 3/4 sleeves, with 5cm/2” of ease.
GAUGE: 20 sts X 27 rows to 10cm/4”
MT: 4.5
