The Loaded crochet belt/bag is inspired by the fact that crocheters and makers need many tools. So this waist belt/bag is thought to be a great piece to gather all your tools and notions. Or simply put your belongings and hit the street in a sporty way, but handcrafted! :)

This pattern is a 2 in 1 pattern consisting of a waistbag, and a cargo belt. Created to be an easy piece to make and wear.

Content &sizing
-This is a graded crochet pattern, that fits sizes from XXS to 3XL, each size has a clear measurement, so it’s easy to understand which measurement you will end up with. The pattern offers two versions: 1) a waist belt with pockets, or 2) a waist bag belt with pockets. Both pattern options have a buckle, so this means they are anyway adjustable.

-Detailed instructions for sizes: XXS to 3XL. A measurement is added for easier understanding and reference.

  • Written step-by-step, technical sketches, and photo references. Helpful YouTube video references for a special technique, which will be useful along the process.

-Number of pages: 14. The layout is made in a very clean and intuitive presentation.

Pattern notes
- Language: English

  • Terminology: US

  • Level of difficulty: Confident beginner.

  • This pattern includes detailed instructions, but it is advised for confident beginner crocheters who are familiar with crochet terminology, and have a basic knowledge in reading crochet patterns. If you are a beginner but willing to learn, the pattern is very clear and will be a good chance to learn more advanced skills.

  • Skills: I-cord chain (includes tutorial), sc, (basic crochet stitches), sc decrease, sc increase, (mattress stitch or flat slip stitch seam), some light sewing.

Materials:
Yarn:

Belt: Fine 2 weight yarn, sport type.
Holding two strands of yarn for the belt, and one strand only for pockets and details.

Bag: Light 3 weight yarn, DK type.

-Yarn material: It is advised to use a non-stretchable yarn. Since the purpose of the belt is to hold tight around our body, and to keep the pockets rigid and sturdy enough (avoid materials such as bamboo, 100% wool, 100% acrylic, or elastic yarn). Any cotton and/or cotton blends (i.e. hemp, linen) will be sturdy enough. Mercerized fibers will be shinier and stronger than non-mercerized varieties. Since fabric and structure strength is very important on a belt, mercerized cotton/blends will be a good option for this project.
