Lobster Cycling Mitts
Lobster mitts can be a cyclist’s best friend during cold-weather rides. They offer the warmth of mittens while allowing the dexterity of gloves. While navigating icy roads, lobster mitts allow the rider to keep half a hand on the bars for steering and half a hand on the brakes, ready for quick stops. They’re also handy as a liner under commercially available lobster mitts or if you want to salute passing Vulcans!
Each mitt has a striped design, a ribbed cuff and an optional rope wrist closure for added wind protection.
This download includes the pattern for both the men’s and women’s version of this mitt. The patterns use US crochet terms and call for worsted weight yarn. The mittens in the sample photographs were made using Lion Brand Fishermen’s Wool and Patons Classic Wool.
