For generations, Maine lobstermen have knotted nets for bait bags and tunnels into their lobster pots. Many Down East fishermen use the same technique to make nets to bring in their catch as well. Whether you see these handcrafted nets hanging out to dry along the pier, doing duty in lobster pots, or in fragments on the beach at low tide, each is as tangible a reminder of the coastal way of life as lobster buoys in the bay.

The Aran cables of the Lobster Net Wrist Warmers reflect traditional Down East nets. Worked circularly from the cuff upwards, the cables provide extra warmth around the wrists and fingers. The diamond shape cable on the back of the hand suggests a buoy bobbing between the nets.
