This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” rectangular (stepped up) shaped shawlette. The bottom is enhanced by a lovely lace stitch that adds a wonderfully feminine finish to this piece. The shawlette measures 98 inches at the widest points across the top and is 16 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with 2 - 3 skeins of fingering weight yarn on a size #6 (U.S.)/4.0mm needle. I have shown it in the pictures in just a couple of the many ways that it can be worn.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The pattern is both charted and written out line by line.

The yarn used to make the sample is Handmaiden’s Casbah in Colorway Orchid.
