There are two fit options for this garment - a Fitted (traditional women’s fit) version, and a Boxy (traditional men’s fit) version. Both versions are included with your pattern purchase!
You can check out a Teaser Trailer for this pattern here! We talk about the fit options, construction, techniques, yarn, and pattern inspiration.
This garment was designed specifically for Red Stag Fibre’s Yorkshire DK. Find this yarn and the Manor Collection here!
What would you wear for a walk in the English countryside? This was the starting inspiration for this pattern. A collaboration with Red Stag Fibre to celebrate the release of their luxurious Yorkshire DK base, Lochton includes sophisticated cables inspired by European architecture and a squishy Fisherman’s Rib edging. The pockets are ready to hold all the treasures you collect on your walks.
Lochton is an almost-seamless, top down vest with saddle shoulder construction. The two fronts and backs are worked down from the saddle, and joined at the underarm. After completion of the body, button bands and collar edging are worked, as well as the pocket lining. The Fitted version includes optional waist shaping.

YARN
Fitted Version: 990 (1085, 1195, 1275) (1365, 1470, 1560) (1645, 1720, 1810) yards / 905 (990, 1095, 1165) (1250, 1345, 1430) (1505, 1570, 1655) meters DK weight yarn (shown in Red Stag Fibre’s Yorkshire DK in colorway Aberdeenshire, 75% Polwarth & 25% Masham, 246 yards / 225 meters per 3.5 ounce / 100 gram skein)
Boxy Version:1110 (1205, 1330, 1475) (1550, 1690, 1815) (1940, 2015, 2135) yards / 1015 (1100, 1215, 1350) (1415, 1545, 1655) (1775, 1840, 1955) meters DK weight yarn (shown in Red Stag Fibre’s Yorkshire DK in colorway St Andrews, 75% Polwarth & 25% Masham, 246 yards / 225 meters per 3.5 ounce / 100 gram skein)
I would recommend using a non-superwash wool to maintain the shape of the garment. Consider using a semi-solid or tonal yarn to highlight the cables and texture.
