Lockdown Gansey Fingerless Mitts
Cosy fingerless gloves inspired by the traditional patterns of Gansey jumpers, which have always fascinated me, & I have adapted this pattern from my Gansey Headband, in the Covid Lockdown 2020.
The mitts are knitted in the round, bottom up, the thumb gusset mimics the gansey under-arm gussets, with the cable pattern wraps around the thumb.
There are both charted and written instructions, and I give suggestions to adapt the size for smaller or larger fingerless gloves. A short version is also included.
Approx weight of finished gloves knitted in DK is 80g. The short version knitted in Frangipani Guernsey 5 ply weighs 45g.
