The Loddon Sweater is a raglan sweater knitted in Stockinette stitch, worked top-down. The yoke is worked flat, but the body and sleeves are worked in the round. You will begin with some short-row shaping across the back and shoulders to shape the neckline. You will then work raglan shaping with compound increases. When the yoke shaping is done, you will leave the sleeve stitches to rest and work the body in the round. Next, you will apply the collar before finishing by working each sleeve with some light shaping.

Materials & Fit
Notions: You will need 3.5 mm / US 4 (40- and 80-cm / 16- and 32-in cord) and 4.5 mm / US 7 (40- and 80-cm / 16- and 32-in cord circular needles. You will also need at least 8 stitch markers, one of which should be in a contrasting colour to indicate the beginning of the round, a darning needle, and either scrap yarn, spare circular needles, or stitch holders for the resting sleeve stitches.
Please note that as the yoke is worked flat, you could just use circular needles with an 80- or 100-cm / 32- or 40-in cord to make this garment, as long as you are comfortable using the Magic Loop method for the sleeves. Personally, I worked the yoke and body of my samples on a 60-cm / 24-in needle and the sleeves on a 40-cm / 16-in cord. However, this totally depends on your personal preference and available materials.
Tension: 19 stitches x 28 rows/rounds in Stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm / US 7 = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 in.
Yarn: You will need approximately 660 (700) 740 (780), 830 (880) 940 (980), 1,100 (1,150) 1,250 (1,330) m / 720 (770) 810 (860), 910 (970) 1,030 (1,080), 1,200 (1,260) 1,370 (1,460) yds of both a fingering- and a lace-weight yarn if working with 2 strands, or a light DK-weight yarn if working with a single strand.
Please note that I have rounded all figures given here up to the nearest 10 m / 10 yds for ease of reading.
For both of my samples, I used Knitting for Olive No Waste Wool (50% recycled wool, 50% merino wool; 50 g = 225 m / 246 yds held with Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (70% mohair, 30% silk; 25 g = 225 m / 246 yds).
For the first sample, I used No Waste Wool in the shade Dark Navy and Soft Silk Mohair in the shade Dark Blue (which is seemingly no longer available from Knitting for Olive; I believe the shade Blue Whale would be the closest match). For the second sample, I used No Waste Wool and Soft Silk Mohair both in the shade Powder.
If you want to use the same yarns, this works out to be 3 (4) 4 (4), 4 (4-5) 5 (5), 5 (6) 6 (6) balls of both yarns.
The first sample (navy blue) is Size D, worn with about 3 cm / 1.25 in extra positive ease, and the second sample (beige) is Size C, worn with the intended positive ease on my 89 cm / 35 in bust.
Sizing and ease: The Loddon Sweater has a recommended positive ease of 3–8.5 cm / 1.25–3.25 in for Sizes A-H and 3-13.5 cm / 1.25-5.25 in for Sizes I-L around the chest (or the widest part of your torso). However, if you wanted less ease, you would be welcome to choose a smaller size relative to your chest measurement and vice versa.
