LOFOTEN Lopapeysa, despite its Icelandic style, is named after the Norwegian Lofoten Islands, which are world famous for their codfish. Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to underarms, then joined to work yoke in the round. Round begins at left side of body. On yoke, round begins on the left side of back at the joining of body and sleeve. For knitting the sleeves, I recommend using the ‘magic loop’ technique, which helps you to avoid bunching up when enlarging and working on pattern, and also saves your time.
In the pattern you will find a table of sizes, basic measurements and calculations. This will make it easier for you to guide yourself when working on your sweater. The table is versatile and can be used to work on any lopapeysa. Almost all measurements are given in US and metric.

You will need #0052 Black Sheep (main colour), #1417 Frostbite, #9426 Golden, #9427 Rust, #1704 Apricot, #1416 Moor, #1700 Air Blue, #9418 Stone Blue colors.
For XS — 7 balls of Black, S — 8 balls, M — 9 balls, L — 10 for women’s size and 11 for men’s, XL — 11 W/ 13 M, 2XL — 12 W / 13 M. You’ll need one of each of the other colours for most sizes, and for 2XL W and XL M you will need 2 Frostbite and 2 Golden Heather, and for 2XL M you will need one additional Frostbite.

You will also need 4 stitch holders and 4 stitch markers.
