Logan
Logan half-mitts are inspired by the construction and patterning traditionally used in mittens and gloves in Selbu, Norway. Logan’s motifs include a men’s cuff, clover, a deer, a spruce twig, a spider and a patterned palm.
Many thanks to Anne Bardsgard for her book, Selbu Mittens, published by Trafalgar Square Books of North Pomfret, Vermont.
Pattern requires the following skills: working in the round in small circumferences, increasing and decreasing, stranded knitting in two colors.
Approximate amounts of yarn needed:
Small - MC:137yds/125m, 36g, CC:84yds/77m, 22g
Medium - MC:152yds/139m, 40g, CC:122yds/112m, 32g
Large - MC:160yds/146m, 42g, CC:130yds/119m, 34g
Yarn quantities include extra yarn for swatching.
Note about sizing:
Logan Half-Mitts were designed with 0”/0cm of ease to make it easier for the wearer to use their fingers and thumbs. Measure around the palm of the dominant hand, just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
