This pattern is available for FREE on my Ko-Fi shop, and you may also purchase it for a small price of an almond croissant on Ravelry. This pattern is not tested or graded because I am designing for myself as a hobby and simply want to share, but I did include many tips on size adjustments. The pattern is also written in the Japanese style with simplified written instructions and heavy in schematics and charts. Please feel free to get a free copy before deciding whether this format makes sense for you. I would really appreciate your donation for my effort. It will encourage me to put out more designs like this!
DESCRIPTION
The Logan Roy Cardigan is a shawl-collar cable knit cardigan inspired by the iconic outfit worn by “old money daddy” Logan Roy from the TV series “Succession”. Honestly, I designed this cardigan just to feel this sense of power for myself. Knitted with the traditional Irish tweed wool from Donegal Yarns, the cardigan feels like quality and low-key luxury. It can be worn like a sweater with winter coats, or as an outer layer jacket during the spring and autumn. It will easily become your staple item in the wardrobe!
SIZES
Roughly women’s size S with the following measurements:
- Bust circumference: 106 cm
- Length: 55 cm
- Sleeve length: 42 cm
Tips for size adjustment are given in the pattern.
SUGGESTED NEEDLES
Knitting needles of size
- 4.5 mm for front, back, sleeves, button band and collar,
- 4 mm for ribbings.
Front, back, button band and collar are knitted flat. Sleeves are knitted in the round. Choose appropriate length of circular needles or DPNs based on your knitting habit.
GAUGE
In cable pattern stitch:
27.5 sts * 27 rows = 10 cm square on 4.5 mm needles, or
34 sts * 36 rows = 12.5 cm * 13 cm square when swatching the Cable Chart on 4.5 mm needles.
YARN & MATERIALS
- Donegal Yarns Mohair Tweed 2.2/1 (70% Merino Wool, 30% Mohair; 100 g/ 220 m) 650 g in colorway “Blueberry”, or 1430 m of worsted weight wool yarn, such as Cascade Yarns 220, Drops Nepal, De Rerum Natura Gilliatt, Rauma Fivel, Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk Vidde and Ístex Léttlopi.
- 6 buttons with a circumference of 2 cm.
You will need more yarn and buttons if you knit the garment longer.
