Lohengrin top
This is a guide on how to make a Lohengrin top. This top can be made using any weight yarn, although it is recommended to make it in 4ply, DK, or Aran.
An example of what yarn was needed, the pattern for the granny square bands and how the size was calculated is included in the guide.
The example is worked in Drops Sky with a 4 mm hook. The quantity of yarn and the size of hook will vary depending on what yarn you use and what size you calculate.
As an example, the image for this top was made using Drops Sky in a Medium size used 4 balls of main colour and 1/2 a ball of each of the 9 contract colours for the granny squares (there was some remaining yarn left).
You can use any granny square pattern in any number of colours and any stitch between the granny squares. The instructions are used to illustrate how to construct this top. Also you could make this top with no granny squares, or from only granny squares. It is a guide on how to construct this shape of top.
This top would be suitable for an intermediate crocheter. However, a beginner could manage this if they are confident.
