Lois Shawlette
Designed for my paternal Grandma, Lois, this shawlette/scarf is a great way to use that gorgeous single skein of indy dyed yarn! For a pop of contrast, knit the picot border in a different colour!
The crescent shape sits and stays well on the shoulders and wraps easily around the neck. A perfect little scarf!
The pattern will suit intermediate to advanced knitters but with the plethora of knitting tutorials available, I have no doubt an advanced beginner could knit it as well!
Materials used: 400yards fingering weight yarn, circular needles with a 24” to 40” cord, a tapestry needle and an optional row counter or some way of keeping track of rows is useful.
Gauge is not important in this design but be aware that if you use a different sized needle or weight of yarn your measurements and required amount of yarn may differ from the pattern.
The sample shawlette was 13” at its deepest point and hung 50” end to end when draped around the neck.
Stitches used: knit, purl, slip, yarn over, k2tog, ssk, kyok
