This Lollipop Angel is a quick and easy Christmas project to crochet. With the lollipop as the angel’s head, it holds special appeal to children (or the young at heart). The little halo helps to keep the lollipop in place.

Lollipop Angels are constructed using dc’s from the top down and worked in the round. They are fast to make so many can be turned out for parties, used as table place markers, for insertion into Christmas stockings, as little holiday remembrances for co-workers left at their desks, or as Grandma treats to the little ones. They could even be used as ornaments either hiding in the branches or by adding a hanging loop.

Photo #2 shows the angel and halo without the lollipop in place.

You can also add little extras to angels, such as a ribbon bow at the waist. The ribbons in photo #3 match the color of the lollipop wrapper.

Ed note 1: The pattern calls for Tootsie Pops to insert for the heads. You could also use other lollipop brands but the size may vary. Because I had a few smaller lollipops (Dum Dums) already on hand, I used these in place of the Tootsie Pops. I adjusted the pattern by going down one hook size and adding an extra row at the bottom to accommodate. On one of the extra rows, I chose to crochet a scalloped edge. (See photo #3)
