Lollipop Spiral Socks
I love spiral sock patterns, so it made sense that my first pattern would be one! I have had people test knit it as well. This pattern and the yarn for size Large (Dyed in the Wool Company) reminded me of candy, hence the name of the pattern. Even though the sock spirals, there is a lot of rib stitch, so these socks are very stretchy…hence the low stitch count. Size small and large have their own charts, as do the right and left foot, so it’s important to make sure you are using the correct chart. Also, since these socks are so stretchy, you’ll notice the yardage is fairly low. You can most definitely add extra repeats on the leg portion to make them taller. With the way I have the pattern written, I was actually able to knit the size small with only 50g!
I’m a fairly tight knitter, so I make most of my socks on size US 2, so be sure to check your gauge, as you may need to use a smaller needle size. This pattern is designed to use 4 or 5 double pointed needles. It’s a bit annoying because the pattern repeats 3 times on the leg, with an odd number of stitches on each needle, so working on circulars may be a little fussy, but I’m sure it can be done if you prefer.
