Lollipop Witch
Lollipop Witches are something I wanted to make for my children for Halloween - however, between helping with costumes, driving them to parties, shopping for all the extras, etc., I never seemed to have the time to sit down and do it. Now - as a Grandma - I can spoil my Grandchildren and share the pattern here.
The Lollipop Witch was the first little witch style I created, and the smile was the most important thing. I didn’t want these witches to be scary - I wanted them to be loved by children - from the lollipop inside to the toy they could play with after. The Lollipop Witch comes WITH a Lollipop. But even after the first one is gone you can easily add another one. This Witch is destined to become a friend (toy) LONG after the lollipop is gone.
One of the BEST parts about the Lollipop Witch is that this friend is totally UNIQUE. Try as I may, I can never make another one exactly like the first. Yes, I have 40+ years experience crocheting, but these little witches take on their own personality as they are being made. The face always changes a little, and the broom always seems to different too. Its that unique quality that makes this a wonderful gift.
Although I used black and orange you can really use any colors you like. Without the lollipop she weighs about 0.8 ounces (less than an ounce) so she is a great way to use up left over yarn.
I take pictures of the whole process and include them in the pattern. Some times - seeing a picture - makes the instruction even more clear.
