Welcome to the LOLO’S LUCKY STAR Mystery Knit-A-Long (MKAL)!! This MKAL will take place over four weeks, from OCTOBER 5 - NOVEMBER 2, 2018, with one clue per week, to bring you along on a fun, colorful knitting adventure. You will be making a three-color shawl that features short rows, garter stitch, eyelets and some fun and easy slip-stitch colorwork. The result is a unique, beautiful and wearable shawl.

You may join at any time during this four week period. To join, create a project page on Ravelry and include “MKAL” in the name.

Upon purchase of the pattern, you will receive an introduction and general requirements of the pattern. Beginning on October 5 and on each Friday thereafter during the course of the MKAL, you will receive one clue per week via Ravelry pattern updates.

The MKAL will primarily take place on Instagram, with community, sharing, prize announcements, etc. being held on that platform. Make sure you’re following the designer @websterstreetknittery and using the official MKAL hashtags: #lolosluckystarMKAL #lolosluckystarshawl to participate.

If you have a private account on Instagram, your posts cannot be seen by those who do not follow you. To be eligible for prizes, make sure you have a project page on Ravelry as prize winners will be chosen from both Instagram and Ravelry participants.

Approximate yardage of fingering or sock weight yarn:

Color A: 275 yards
Color B: 190 yards
Color C: 300 yards

You should choose yarns with good contrast between all three colors. Ideally there should be little to no overlap in the colors (if you have multicolored yarn) as possible.

If you have variegated or multicolored yarns, they would work well as Color A or C. Solids, tonals and lightly speckled or less “busy” yarns work well as Color B. You can use all semi-solid/tonals if you like, or all variegated!
