LoLo's Newsboy Cap
Add some glitz to your hat with a carry-along metallic yarn like Scoubidou, or keep it simple using just the chunky yarn on its own.
Skill level is “easy intermediate.” There’s a bit of increasing and decreasing, nothing a confident knitter and purler can’t handle. Any special stitches, such as M1 and w&t, are explained in the directions.
Beginners needn’t worry that the ribbing looks complicated: most of your odd-numbered rows are simply “knit the knit stitches and purl the purls.”
The brim is made separately and attached to the hat at the end. Or make it without the brim and behold, it’s a beanie!
Yarns used in the hats pictured are, for the grey, The Fibre Company’s Tundra, a blend of baby alpaca, merino wool, and silk, with the Scoubidou carried along with it. Shiny!
The autumn colors in the second hat are brought to us by Colinette Prism.
