ABOUT THE PATTERN
The London Bonnet is worked back and forth on circular needles. First, work the mid-section in stockinette stitch, then stitches are
knitted up on each side of the mid-section and continue back and forth to the neck, then work a folded edge around the face-
opening, then work straps in double knitting.

SIZES
One Size.
Head circumference: 55 - 60 cm. See measurements on the diagram page 6.

YARN AND MATERIALS
The London Bonnet is made with 52 g of leftover yarns. To ensure that all the yarns used were of the same thickness, I sometimes
knitted with 1 strand of yarn and sometimes with 6 strands of yarn held together.
For the London Bonnet in the photos, I mainly used the following yarns:
Organic Brushed Alpaca from Kaos Yarn (6 strands of yarn held together)
Hip Mohair from HipknitShop (6 strands of yarn held together)
Wow Fluffy from Katia Yarns (1 strand of yarn)
Circular needles 8 mm 60 & 80 cm
Circular needles 10 mm 80 cm
Tapestry needle

GAUGE
Gauge: 9 sts x 12 rows =10 x 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch, on needle size 10 mm.
Make a swatch to achieve the same gauge as indicated above. Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on
10 cm = 4”, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm = 4”, change to a smaller needle size.
