London Gap
This cuff-down sock pattern creates great texture knit up in self striping, variegated or semi-solid yarns. Ideal yarn choice is self-striping yarn with medium to wide stripes of similar width.
Using a colorful yarn like Trailing Cloud’s “Mind the Gap” will give your socks the ultimate “Wow!” factor.
Once you get the hang of it, the stitch pattern is easily memorized, making this a great pattern when you’re on the go.
The pattern is divided into two versions, one for self striping yarns and one for non self striping yarns, such as semi-solids, solids or variegated colorways. Chart reading is required.
Pattern is written for three sizes: Small, Medium, Large and approximate yarn required is 340 yards, 390 yards, and 450 yards respectively.
Note that size Large uses an entire skein of the recommended yarn. If you are a loose knitter or if you choose to forgo knitting a gauge swatch, you may need 2 skeins to complete a pair in the Large size.
Techniques used:
Knitting in the round
