Long Fingerless Mitts
This pattern is knit flat on straight 4mm needles. mostly knit in stockinette stitch except for some garter stitch and reverse stockinette stitch at the beginning and the end. The thumb hole is created during the seaming process and i have included a slight increase of stitches at the wrist to provide shaping for the hand.
A darning needle is recommended to sew the gloves together, sewn inside out will create an invisible seam.
It is possible to cast on more stitches to create a larger sized mitt.
8ply yarn is lovely and warm without being heavy or uncomfortable. you can use a variegated or tonal yarn to add colour and interest to your mitts.
These can be worn on their own or they’re great for layering when its really cold outside by using gloves underneath. These wrist warming mitts are very quick and easy to knit, pick out some scrumptious yarn and away you knit. This is simple knitting at its best so they will make great gifts too.
