These socks are inspired by old Gotlandic socks with roses and leaves in stranded knitting.
I knit them on small needles to get them durable and strong and to be able to knit more roses around the leg.
I´ve been longing for Gotland ever since I first visited the island 30 years ago. This year, we are moving to Gotland, the island of roses and fairytales in the Baltic sea. While I’m waiting and longing I knit in my love for Gotland in my socks.

Needles: Double pointed needles 2,0mm – 2,5mm, depending on gauge and wanted size

36 sts 46 rnds 10 cm on needles 2,0
34 sts 44 rnds 10 cm on needles 2,25
32 sts 42 rnds 10 cm on needles 2,5

Measures on a finished sock:

Size smaller
Circumference round the waist of the foot is 19 cm on needles 2,25

Size (larger)
Circumference round the waist of the foot is 20 cm on needles 2,0
Circumference round the waist of the foot is 21 cm on needles 2,25
