This scarf/cowl has been designed to showcase Schoppel-Wolle Pur yarn. The short repeat in the long intarsia bands highlights the yarn’s simultaneous dual color changes. This pattern includes instructions for knitting a reversible intarsia scarf, that with a simple join or buttons and buttonholes, can be converted to a cowl.

When complete, this scarf will be approximately 5’ long by 5.5” wide. By modifying the number of stitches in each row, the scarf/cowl can be made longer and narrower or shorter and wider. As long as the relative number of stitches of each yarn remains constant (~ 1.24 stitches of color A to every color B stitch), the yarns will be consumed at the same rate resulting in minimal waste yarn at the end. This ratio is good for the two yarns specified. Other yarns would utilize different ratios.
