Longmile Sweater
Longmile
A cropped sweater with strong geometric colourwork.*
Incorporates set-in sleeves (rather than a yolk); and a geometric (rather than floral) pattern to give a more structured and less folky look than many fairisle sweaters. Knitted in simple 8 ply it is quick to make and really affordable. Would also be great in tweed. Awesome for layering.
Yarn
8 ply / DK / Light Worsted, 100% wool, 100-140m (110-150 yards) per 50g. A tight, compact yarn is best and swatching is recommended to ensure the yarn is not too bulky for colourwork.
Approximate number 50g skeins:
Colour A (main colour): 8 (Size S), 9 (Size M), 11 (Size L).
Colour B: 1
Colour C: small amount

- Straight gauge-size needles (achieved with 4mm (US6))
- Straight below-gauge-size needles for ribbing (3.5mm (US4))
- Round below-gauge-size needle for neck ribbing (3.5mm (US4)).
Gauge
22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm / 4in over stockinette.
