Look, Squirrel!
Look, Squirrel! is 25% off leading up to Rhinebeck so even if you aren’t going, you can join in the fun! It will be full price on Friday. You can also get your yarn for it at the Junkyarn booth at Rhinebeck and stop by to say hello Friday morning if you are there!
Look, Squirrel! is the pattern for those who are easily distracted by shiny or moving things. Once you get through the yoke, you can go squirrel (or plane, ahem) spotting all day while knitting.
Samples are in Junkyarn DK in Selma (for the pink speckled version) and Madelinetosh DK in Candlewick (don’t ask me what is going on with their site - I have no idea but Junkyarn in Coreopsis is a perfect golden substitute.)
The cardigan is constructed from the top, down and knit back and forth. The sleeves are then picked up and knit from the top down. There is a delicate seed stitch collar and button band. There are optional short rows and you can make the sweater longer if you like. The sleeves are 3/4 sleeves and framed with a bit of lace which means you’ll have to focus for a bit right at the end. The button band has no buttons but you can certainly add them if you like.
It’s the cardigan that you grab every day to wear with jeans or a dress, and you might want to knit a few of them in different…wait! What was that? What was I saying?
Sizes - This is designed to be work with 2” of positive ease so take your chest size and knit the size 2” up from it. If you are between sizes, you may want to size down to prevent a baggy sweater.
