Looks Like Rain is a light scarf for those cooler spring and autumn days - not too heavy or warm but just enough to keep off the chill.
The simple repeating eyelet pattern lets enough air circulate to do just that. But if the temperature drops a little, it’s long enough to wrap double and snuggle up.

I’ve gone for a merino yarn as it’s really warm for its weight, plus it lets your skin breath.

• Materials

560 - 600m 4 ply merino

(I had 4 x 50g balls of Debbie Bliss Rialto 4 ply but only just broke into the 4th ball.)

• Skill Level

The design is simple, yet effect and I would suggest is suitable for an adventurous beginner. As well as full written instructions, there are some sections of chart to assist you.

• Size

Looks Like Rain is a long narrow scarf, approx 70” / 177cm long and 10.5” / 27cm wide.
If your preference is for a smaller scarf - more of a light neck wrap, or perhaps you would like to make a child size - I have included the number of pattern repeats needed to use just one precious skein of hand dyed yarn.

The size is easily adjustable if you have more yarn available - just add more increases and more repeats.
And if you don’t like the pompom trim, there are details of how to make a picot edging - or you could even add beads!
