Loop Sweater
This design has been years in the making. I love the look of alternating Garter stitch with Stockinette stitch and it allows for some fun colour play as well. You can of course choose to knit this sweater with just 1 or 2 colours or have some fun and use as many as you like. The pattern includes all the information you need on how to calculate your colour changes throughout.
This design can also be knit almost entirely without any purling (except for the ribbing - unfortunately there is no getting around that one!) There are instructions included on how to use the German Short row technique to knit the garter ridges so you can knit it all just using the stockinette stitch. Alternatively if that is not your cup of tea you can of course do it the traditional way. Both options are included in the pattern.
Its not a complicated pattern at all but I knew I wanted it to be one of my most inclusive patterns. In the end I achieved this by using both my standard grading methods to create a fun and engaging yoked sweater design in my usual PDF format. However, in addition to this I also created a Spreadsheet pattern (using the Sizing With Spreadsheets method developed by Swanky Emu Knits), which allows this pattern to be knit to any customised size and even allows for alternative weights of yarn/gauge to be used as well. This makes this pattern a truly inclusive design as the size and gauge options are unlimited.
(please note this spreadsheet pattern as written would not work as well for child sizes only because the amounts of ease added to different areas would need to be adjusted for children to be more proportional for their body size, so I would avoid using it as it is for a child’s garment. I am working on a child sized version of this design which will be coming soon.)
PAY WHAT WORKS
I have created THREE coupon codes so you can either purchase the pattern for full price, or with 20%, 40% or 60% discounts. I wanted to provide this pattern with a range of pricing options as I know not everyone can afford patterns at full cost. If you would like to support my channel and the work I am doing, and you have the means to do so then paying for this pattern at one of the higher price points is a great way to do that.
The listed price most accurately reflects the time and work that went into creating this pattern, however, if this is not financially accessible for you then please use one of the codes below.
20% off code - PWW20
40% off code - PWW40
60% off code - PWW60

Sizing Info – Please note that there are two options for knitting this design. The first is the standard way where you can select your size based on the sizing chart and schematic (see last two images on the left) and proceed with the relevant instructions in the PDF. In this version the measurements shown in the sizing chart and schematic are the finished garment measurements and you will need to select the size based on how much ease you wish to have.
For example if you have a 40inch chest circumference and you want 5 inches of ease then you would select the 45inch size garment to knit.
This PDF pattern includes 11 adult sizes ranging from 32 inches up to 66 inches. The sweater is intended to be worn with about 0-6 inches of positive ease so pick a size based on your preference.
I suggest you go through the pattern and highlight the numbers relevant to the size you are choosing to knit to avoid confusion when working through the pattern.
The second option is to use the “Sizing With Spreadsheets” version of this design which allows you input your own body measurements, as well as gauge (this can be different to the pattern gauge) and the spreadsheet will then autofill the rest of the instructions based on this information resulting in a set of instructions customised based on your own numbers. (Please note if you are using the Spreadsheet version you will still need to refer to the PDF for information about the stitch patterns, Colour changes and abbreviations, etc)
Please note the spreadsheet has been tested and works when using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (this is a free program). However, it does not work on the Numbers program which is usually found on Mac computers.
Additionally with the spreadsheet option, you are not only able to input your own measurements but you can easily use a different gauge/weight of yarn to knit this sweater.
The garment was designed to be knit out of Worsted weight yarn however, it has also been tested using a variety of yarn weights ranging from Fingering to Worsted weight.
There is a link included in the pattern to Download the Spreadsheet as this cannot be uploaded to Ravelry.
