This is a simple hat with a looped finish. The broken seed stitch pattern is especially good for highly variegated yarns but you can always just use stockinette stitch if you prefer. You can wear this as a slouchy hat or fold the ribbing and wear it as a fitted toque/beanie.

I wrote this pattern for our Riverside Studio Aran yarn, but any similar weight yarn could be used.
