CONSTRUCTION
This is an envelope style pillow cover. This closure can also be referred to as an ‘overlap closure’. It is formed by seaming closed the 2 side edges of the pillow and the back panel of the pillow cover has two overlapping panels that meet in the center. The insert is put through the slit at the back and is hidden from view by the overlapping panels. This pillow cover is made all in one piece, and the bottom back overlap is worked first, then the front of the pillow cover is worked, then the top back overlap is worked. You then fold the pillow cover so the 2 back pieces overlap so that your pillow measures 20 inches x 20 inches square, then sew up the sides! Your pillow cover is done!
