The Loppe stitch is a single stitch of colorwork that has been used traditionally in Scandinavian knitting. It creates a simple yet fun fabric that makes the sweater warmer because of the floats.

The sweater is intended to fit like a regular fitted sweater around the shoulders, but have a cozy and oversized fit. It is covered all over with a simple colorwork pattern of “Lopper” (fleas in Danish). The pattern is established at the top of the yoke, following shoulder and sleeve charts, and then continued throughout as set.
