Lord of the Isles
Lord of the Isles
Every kilt looks that wee bit smarter when accompanied by a sleek pair of hand-knitted hose. This pattern features a simple, sinuous cable that matches the Finlaggan cardigan and a nifty toe-up construction. Shaped to the wearer’s calf, these are hose fit for any lord (or lady) of the Isles.

25 sts and 32 rounds to 10cm 4in over st st worked in the
round, using gauge-size needle
This pattern has two gauges. The below-gauge-size needle is used to create a foot and ankle that fits neatly and snugly, as well as to draw the hose into the garter-like ribbing around the knee, and the gauge-size needle is used to work a stretchy fabric around the leg and calf.
In sample shown, gauge was achieved using 2.5mm (below gauge-size) and 3.00 mm (gauge-size) needles.
Pattern includes instructions for Turkish / winding cast on and an international shoe-size table with measurements.
