Loreley
With the release of Loreley, I’m kicking off this year’s Knitters Against Malaria campaign. Do you want to be part of it? Find out more here! We need your support!
If you purchase 5 patterns from my Ravelry Store at the same time (add them all to your cart before you check out), the least expensive one will be free.
Named for the murmuring of the river, the Loreley rock on the Rhine shore is said to be home to a beautiful siren whose song distracts sailors and causes them to crash on the rocks below.
While knitting this bottom-up triangle shawl, you can lose yourself — safely! — in the seductive repetition of the geometric lace pattern that echoes across the body.
The lace evokes the stony face of its namesake, while the watery colorways of Lovely Merino Treat from Rosy Green Wool are reminiscent of a gentle river edged by a sandy shoreline.
Yardage
Rosy Green Wool Lovely Merino Treat
• 3 skeins in „Reed“, 299 g / 688 yds [628 m] used for sample
• 1 skein in „Pistachio“, 71 g / 164 yds [150 m] used for sample
Note: Reed has almost completely been used up for the
original sample. If you want to make sure you don’t run out
of yarn, do a gauge swatch. Also, you can safely leave out
garter stitch rows in the upper border.
Pattern has been tech-edited and test knitted.
Do you like my designs and want to join me on the journey? You’ll find a Ravelry group for discussing my patterns, for test knits and KALs here.
