I wanted a sideways constructed glove that didn’t require casting off and on for every finger. Through trial and error I came up with this unique pattern.
This glove is worked from pinky to thumb on one side of the hand then from pinky to thumb on other side of the hand.

It will not resemble a glove at all until you start your braided cast-off.

The pattern uses
400m self-striping sock yarn (4-ply)
waste yarn for provisional cast-on
3mm x 80cm (or longer) circular needle
3mm crochet hook for provisional cast-on
stitch markers – safety pin style - 10 total – one unique from the others
long flexible stitch holders – at least 5
(eg Clover circular stitch holders, Knitter’s Pride Interchangeable cords, or smooth yarn or thread in different colour from working yarn)

SPECIAL NOTES AND ABBREVIATIONS
PCO – provisionally cast on
POandK – pick out the provisional cast-on and knit the live stitches that are exposed
k2tog- knit 2 stitches together
ssk – slip the next two stitches separately knitwise then knit together
W&T – wrap & turn – slip the next stitch purlwise from the left needle, bring yarn forward, slip the stitch back to the left needle, turn for next row
